If you’re implementing trend investing as part of your greater swing trading or other investment strategy, we would like to point out that there are a few repeat companies in the list above suggesting that search interest in the respective corporations remain robust. Especially for those businesses in which their primary sales medium is online in nature, the fact that they continue to be one of the top 15 most searched stocks in the NASDAQ 100 suggests that online traffic through google searches continues to be robust and should have a positive effect on sales. Comparing against the prior month’s data, the following companies showed up again in the NASDAQ top 15 most searched stocks:

We’ve also highlighted the top 15 most searched stocks in the NASDAQ 100 that had the largest jump in searches between March 2014 and April 2014. For all of you investors implementing a swing trading style of investment, you may want to keep an eye out for this list and pay special focus to the companies whose primary medium of sales is web based. Trend to Note:

Travel Sector: The monthly most searched stocks list contains three companies related to the travel sector (HomeAway Inc, Travelzoo Inc and TripAdvisor Inc), all of which book sales primarily online. If you’re swing trading, you should note that the April 2014 search volume compared against the same month in 2013 show that both HomeAway Inc and TripAdvisor are steadily increasing while Travelzoo shows no change.
